Allison- The capital of Greece was Athens and Athens still is the capital of Greece today. Athens was named after the Greek goddess Athena. Up next is Morgan
Morgan: Polis: The Greek word for City-state. Here is Tiffani
Tiffani: The governments of Athens. There were 3 main governments. The Oligarchy, Monarchy, and Democracy. The monarchy is when a king or queen is in charge, just like in England. The Oligarchy is when aristocrats ruled. FYI an aristocrat is a rich person. Now Savannah is going to tell you about democracy.
Savannah-Citizens in Greece could only be men and they had to be over the age of 18, and they had to be a citizen. There family also had to be from Greece. A non citizen is somebody whose family was not from Greece and they weren’t either. Somebody who is a woman, animal, and a slave. Citizens had the power to vote, rule, and control. You can be a woman or a man as long as you follow the list above.Did you know: That Athens was the first place on the face of the earth to develop a form of government?
Morgan: The Persians thought the Greeks were weak since they were easily outnumbered. But the Greek warriors were as feirce as a bull seeing red. Especially the Spartan warriors, they were the fiercest of all. The Persians came to Ancient Greece three times! But each time the Greeks drove them away. The third time they came to Greece the Greek armies tossed burning wood onto the Persian ships. The survivors swam to shore and were killed by the Greek armies that were waiting for them. The Persians never threat ancient Greece ever again. Heres Veronica.
